You walk out from your room to your own beach full of shells. BBQ, Tables and chairs on the beach along with reclining beach chairs. Perfect getaway location.

While Sanibel is still very much in recovery phase, we really appreciated the efforts of the staff at the island Inn to make our stay as enjoyable as it had been in years past. While the hurricane devastation is evident, our room at the Starkey Lodge was just as lovely as it had been on many other occasions, spotlessly clean, nicely appointed, and Ken at the front desk, spent quite a bit of time with us explaining to us what amenities remained on property and on the island.

I've been staying at the Island Inn since before I could walk, as my mom and cousin have been coming here since before I was born. We were so sad that the Inn was destroyed during the hurricane and are happy they've been able to rebuild. We stayed in the Matthews Lodge on the first floor. The room is beautiful and comfortable. The staff are friendly, helpful, and accommodating. We arrived after the front desk closed. They reached out to us in advance, sent us all the info we'd need by email, and had our room keys ready for us in a lock box. The location is great, with beautiful views of the Gulf. We even lucked out and saw dolphins one morning! Lovely item, and will definitely be back.

I was there recently with my sister. We are in our 70s and don't get to see each other often. We had the most wonderful time...a real bonding experience! The accommodations were exceptional. The office staff was great. It was the next thing to a private beach. Every need had been anticipated. All this allowed us to really relax and enjoy ourselves.

We are planning a stay on Sanibel Island in January of 2027, and after checking out alot of resorts, came upon Island Inn. We stopped in on a whim hoping to get some information before booking a stay. We met Ken in their office and he was more than gracious to us. Not only did he explain about the resort, but brought us over to the rooms and gave us a tour. He did a fantastic job and we can't wait to spend time there. Brad Kristufek

Just spent two wonderful days at this resort. Spacious rooms, everything so clean, giant double shower, tons of towels, and amenities as promised, including full kitchen. Would love to go back again.

I absolutely loved this place. Walk out the back door right onto the sand. Shells were every where I have never seen so many. Service was great. They were very knowledgeable and helpful with anything we had questions about or needed. I loved the location and private access. I would recommend anyone to stay here.

Island Inn provided the perfect 4 day getaway. It’s peaceful/quiet and Ken provided the best information at check in. The property is still in some recovery mode from storm damage but our building/room was new and very nice with a perfect ocean view. Beach chairs and umbrellas are provided and you can rent bikes, paddle boards, etc on site. They even saved the “bell” from the former Traditions restaurant. Highly recommend this hotel.

Island Inn is a beautiful property that is worth the stay. The staff are helpful and have thought of everything (you can easily rent bikes, paddle boards and kayaks on property - they even have bug spray if you need it!). The room we received was almost identical to the pictures online and was in pristine condition when we arrived. Clean and fresh. The room was comfortable and well appointed with everything we needed and more. We were able to cook a few simple meals in the kitchen, and it was so nice to have water and ice in the full sized fridge during our stay. The water pressure on the shower was strong, and the AC was quiet instead of a loud roaring unit like in so many beach hotels. Little extras like that really make a beach stay that much more comfortable. Island Inn is now in our list to come back to again and again!
